# Share a workflow

> Give a person view, run or edit access to a workflow.

export const DocMeta = ({type, applies, owner}) => {
  const LABELS = {
    tutorial: "Tutorial",
    "how-to": "How-to guide",
    explanation: "Explanation",
    reference: "Reference"
  };
  return <div className="e6-meta">
      <span className={type === "how-to" || type === "tutorial" ? "e6-eyebrow" : "e6-eyebrow e6-eyebrow--quiet"}>{LABELS[type] || type}</span>
      {applies ? <span>Applies to: {applies}</span> : null}
      {owner ? <span>Owner: {owner}</span> : null}
    </div>;
};

<DocMeta type="how-to" applies="All deployments" />

Share a workflow with an individual using one of three roles:

| Role | Can |
| - | - |
| Viewer | Inspect the workflow |
| Runner | Inspect and run it |
| Editor | Create or change versions, subject to authorship rules |

Where the role allows, shared run history can be filtered between **All runs** and **My runs**.

<Warning>
  **Secret sharing is a separate option.** It can expose your connected capabilities to the person you share with. Turn it on only inside the intended trust boundary.
</Warning>
