# Azure Serverless

> Deploy e6data as a Serverless workspace on Azure - the end-to-end path from creating a workspace to running your first query.

A **Serverless** workspace on Azure runs e6data's compute in e6data's own Azure subscription, fully managed for you. Your data stays in your Azure account - e6data reads it read-only through a keyless Workload Identity federation. There's no Kubernetes to run.

> **Who this is for:** any e6data user with Azure access - no Kubernetes to run. **Before you start:** permission to provision a Managed Identity and register a Storage Credential, plus access to the ADLS data and catalog you want to query (see [Prerequisites](https://docs.e6data.com/platform/deploy/azure-serverless/prerequisites.md)).

**1. Review the architecture**
