# SQL reference

> The SQL that Query Engine supports: data types, functions, statements and equivalents from other engines.

Query Engine runs standard ANSI SQL. This reference covers what's specific to Query Engine: the data types it supports, every function with its syntax and examples, the few statements and clauses that go beyond plain `SELECT`, and how functions from other engines map to e6data.

> **[Supported data types](/query/sql/data-types.md)**
>
> Which types you can query and how to write literals for them.

> **[SQL functions](/query/sql/functions)**
>
> Every function, grouped by category, with syntax, arguments, return values and examples.

> **[Statements and clauses](/query/sql/functions/statements)**
>
> COPY INTO, GROUPING SETS, ROLLUP, CUBE and SELECT \* EXCEPT.

> **[Equivalent functions and operators](/query/sql/function-mapping.md)**
>
> Coming from Athena, BigQuery, Databricks, Presto, Redshift or Snowflake? Find the e6data equivalent.
