# JDBC parameters

> Reference for the e6data JDBC connection URL and its parameters.

The e6data JDBC driver connects over gRPC to the workspace endpoint on port `443` (TLS). The cluster is selected by a connection parameter, so the host stays the same across all your clusters. For setup, see [JDBC](/query/connect/jdbc).

## Connection URL

```
jdbc:e6data://<HOST>:443/secure=true&cluster-name=<CLUSTER>&catalog=<CATALOG>&database=<SCHEMA>
```

## Parameters

| Parameter | Required | Description |
| - | - | - |
| `cluster-name` | Yes | The cluster to route queries to. |
| `catalog` | Yes | The catalog to query. |
| `database` | Yes | The schema (database) within the catalog. |
| `secure` | Yes | `true` to use TLS (always on for authenticated clusters). |
| `cluster-uuid` | Conditional | Required when connecting through a TLS connectivity endpoint. |
| `AUTO_RESUME` | No | `true` to allow the first query to resume a suspended cluster. |

## Authentication

| Field | Value |
| - | - |
| Username | your e6data email |
| Password | a [personal access token](/platform/tokens/pat-and-service-account-keys) |

The JDBC driver class and the driver download are shown in the Console under **Cluster → Connectivity**. The driver also supports browser-based SAML SSO for interactive use.
