# CURRENT_CATALOG

> Returns the query’s current default catalog name.

This function takes no arguments. Its result comes from the query’s configured context.

## Syntax

CURRENT_CATALOG
```

## Arguments

Takes no arguments.

## Returns

* Type: STRING
* NULL behavior: This function takes no arguments. Its result comes from the query’s configured context.

## Usage notes

* Changing the query’s default context can change the result.
