# PARSE_DATE

## Syntax

PARSE\_DATE ( \<format\_string> , \<date\_string> )

Converts a string representation of a date to a DATE object.

```sql theme={"theme":{"light":"github-light","dark":"github-dark"}}
> SELECT PARSE_DATE('%Y/%m/%d/%H','2022/10/20/05');
2022-10-20
```
