# PARSE_DATETIME

> PARSE_DATETIME in Query Engine SQL.

## Syntax

PARSE\_DATETIME ( \<format\_string> , \<datetime\_string> )

Converts a string representation of a date-time to a DATETIME object.

```sql theme={"theme":{"light":"github-light","dark":"github-dark"}}
> SELECT PARSE_DATETIME('%a %M %e %Y %H:%i:%s', 'Thu December 25 2008 20:57:10')
25/12/2008 20:57:10
```
