# PI

> Returns a floating-point approximation of pi.

The zero-argument function always returns a non-NULL constant.

## Syntax

### Scalar

```sql theme={"theme":{"light":"github-light","dark":"github-dark"}}
pi()
```

## Arguments

Takes no arguments.

## Returns

* Type: DOUBLE
* Possible values: The constant 3.141592653589793.
* NULL behavior: The zero-argument function always returns a non-NULL constant.
