# Dashboards

> dashboards

ReferenceApplies to: Unified engine deployments

`[dashboards]`

## Settings

### `max_document_bytes`

Limits the saved size of one document handled by this service.

* **Default:** `4194304`
* **Type:** integer (bytes)

> **Example**
>
> `1048576` gives one document a 1 MiB budget. This measures saved document bytes, not the size of tables queried by the document.

### `max_datasets`

Limits how many datasets one dashboard may declare.

* **Default:** `256`
* **Type:** integer

> **Example**
>
> `256` allows a dashboard definition to reference up to 256 datasets. Each dataset can still return many rows.

### `max_widgets`

Limits how many widgets one document may contain.

* **Default:** `512`
* **Type:** integer

> **Example**
>
> `24` allows 24 widgets in that document. It does not limit how many result rows a widget can display.

### `max_page_size`

Limits how many records one list response may return.

* **Default:** `100`
* **Type:** integer

> **Example**
>
> `100` returns a long list over pages of at most 100 items. A client can still request a smaller page.

### `reconcile_interval_millis`

Sets how often the dashboard service checks refresh and cleanup work.

* **Default:** `2000`
* **Type:** integer

> **Example**
>
> `2000` checks about every two seconds. It does not mean every dashboard refreshes every two seconds.

### `result_delete_grace_millis`

Keeps expired dashboard results readable for a short period before cleanup can delete them.

* **Default:** `60000`
* **Type:** integer

> **Example**
>
> `60000` leaves a one-minute grace period after expiry, giving an existing reader time to finish.

### `snapshot_read_lease_millis`

Sets how long an active dashboard reader’s claim on a result snapshot lasts before it needs renewal.

* **Default:** `300000`
* **Type:** integer

> **Example**
>
> `300000` gives that claim five minutes. Active readers renew it so background refreshes do not immediately remove the version they are viewing.
