# Driver limits

> driver_limits

ReferenceApplies to: Unified engine deployments

`[driver_limits]`

## Settings

### `max_submission_bytes`

Limits the encoded size of a submitted workload definition.

* **Default:** `16777216`
* **Type:** integer (bytes); positive

> **Example**
>
> `16777216` allows a definition up to 16 MiB, including its task definitions. It is not a limit on the data read by the workload.

### `max_tasks`

Limits how many tasks a workload submission may define.

* **Default:** `1024`
* **Type:** integer; positive

> **Example**
>
> `1024` accepts a graph of up to 1024 tasks. Raising a worker’s memory does not raise this graph-size limit.

### `max_dependencies`

Limits how many task-to-task dependency links a submitted workload may contain.

* **Default:** `8192`
* **Type:** integer; positive

> **Example**
>
> `8192` allows up to 8192 dependency edges. One task with several upstream tasks uses several edges.

### `max_status_bytes`

Limits the size of the status data returned by the driver.

* **Default:** `16777216`
* **Type:** integer (bytes); positive

> **Example**
>
> `16777216` gives the status response a 16 MiB budget. Result rows are read through separate result APIs.

### `max_status_runs_per_page`

Limits how many runs the driver includes in one status page.

* **Default:** `100`
* **Type:** integer; positive

> **Example**
>
> `100` divides a long run history into pages of at most 100 runs.
