Assistant permissions

agent.enabled

Allows or blocks assistant conversations and read-only tools.

• Default: true
• Type: boolean

Example false prevents those operations even if the agent service is running. Setting it to true does not start a missing agent service.

agent.execution

Allows or blocks assistant actions that run work or change engine objects.

• Default: true
• Type: boolean

Example Keep this false when the assistant should inspect a catalog but should not execute its proposed workload.

Notebook permissions

notebooks.enabled

Allows or blocks notebook operations.

• Default: true
• Type: boolean

Example false disables notebook operations even if notebook services have been deployed.

notebooks.execution.enabled

Allows or blocks starting new notebook runs.

• Default: true
• Type: boolean

Example Set it to false when notebook documents should remain available while new executions are stopped.

notebooks.execution.sql

Allows or blocks SQL execution from notebooks.

• Default: true
• Type: boolean

Example false prevents SQL notebook execution without changing whether ordinary Workbench SQL is allowed.

notebooks.execution.python

Allows or blocks Python execution from notebooks.

• Default: true
• Type: boolean

Example true permits Python runs only when a Python notebook runtime is also configured. It does not install Python.

Schedules

Allows or blocks new scheduled runs.

• Default: true
• Type: boolean

Example false prevents new scheduled workload runs and scheduled dashboard refreshes. It does not remove their saved definitions.

Query Xray

xray

Allows explicit detailed performance capture and access to Query Xray reports.

• Default: false
• Type: boolean

Set [feature_flags] xray = true in the engine configuration to allow this feature. Ordinary Run keeps capture off. Choose Run with Xray for one worker-executed SELECT, or send options.xray: true in its HTTP submission. The query details page exposes Xray only when the feature is available. Enabling availability does not enable capture for future scheduled runs.
