## Settings

### `max_read_bytes`

Limits how many bytes an Iceberg storage read can request at once.

* **Default:** `67108864`
* **Type:** integer (bytes); positive

> **Example**
>
> `67108864` allows one read of up to 64 MiB, including data-file ranges. A larger table can still be scanned through multiple bounded reads.
