# Scheduler

## Settings

### `batch_size`

Limits how many schedule records the scheduler handles in one pass.

* **Default:** `100`
* **Type:** integer; positive

> **Example**
>
> With `100`, a backlog of 1000 schedules is handled across multiple passes rather than one large pass.

### `lateness_tolerance`

Sets how late a scheduled occurrence can be before it is treated as missed.

* **Default:** `60 s`
* **Type:** duration

> **Example**
>
> With 60 seconds, a run due at 10:00 becomes late after 10:01. The workload’s missed-run policy then determines whether to skip or catch up.

### `max_pending_runs_per_workload`

Limits how many runs may wait in the queue for one workload.

* **Default:** `1024`
* **Type:** integer; positive

> **Example**
>
> `1024` prevents one frequently scheduled, slow workload from creating an unlimited queue of waiting runs.
