PostgreSQL protocol parameters

Reference for connecting to e6data over the PostgreSQL wire protocol - host, port, database encoding, and SSL.

e6data speaks the PostgreSQL wire protocol on port 5432 (TLS), so a stock PostgreSQL client connects with no e6data driver. The routing is encoded in the database name. For setup, see PostgreSQL protocol.

Behavior

• Suspended cluster: the first connection returns SQLSTATE 57P03 ("cluster is being resumed, please retry"); standard drivers retry automatically while the cluster resumes (~30–90 s).
• Idle timeout: PostgreSQL sessions have a 1-hour idle timeout by default.
