Python connector reference

Reference for the e6data Python connector - installation, connection parameters, and the cursor API.

The e6data Python connector runs SQL from Python applications and notebooks. For usage, see Python connector.

Install

pip install e6data-python-connector

Connection parameters

from e6data_python_connector import Connection

Parameter	Description
host	The workspace endpoint host
port	The connection port
username	Your e6data email
password	A personal access token
database	The schema (database) to query
cluster_uuid	The target cluster's UUID
secure	True to use TLS (default False)

Cursor API

cursor = conn.cursor(catalog_name=catalog_name)
query_id = cursor.execute(query)   # returns a query ID you can use to abort
rows = cursor.fetchall()

Method	Purpose
conn.cursor(catalog_name=...)	Open a cursor scoped to a catalog
cursor.execute(query)	Run a statement; returns a query ID
cursor.fetchall()	Fetch all result rows
