• Type: BOOLEAN
• NULL behavior: NULL value or pattern returns NULL.

Properties

Usage notes

• % matches zero or more characters; _ matches one character.
• NOT ILIKE is a negated comparison form.
• Deterministic: The same inputs and settings produce the same result.

Case-insensitive single-character wildcards

SELECT 'CAT' ILIKE 'c_t' AS matched, 'CART' ILIKE 'c_t' AS not_matched;

Limitations

• A custom escape must be a one-character STRING literal. When supplying a custom escape, the pattern must also be a literal.
