• Type: BOOLEAN
• NULL behavior: NULL value or pattern returns NULL.

Usage notes

• % matches zero or more characters; _ matches one character.
• NOT LIKE is a negated comparison form.
• Deterministic: The same inputs and settings produce the same result.

Single-character wildcards

SELECT 'cat' LIKE 'c_t' AS one_character, 'cart' LIKE 'c_t' AS two_characters;

Limitations

• A custom escape must be a one-character STRING literal. When supplying a custom escape, the pattern must also be a literal.
